An imminent water rate increase welcomes the year 2008 of Capizeños in Roxas City, Capiz. Waaah! Almost everything is increasing except the salary rate. According to Inquirer.net:
MRWD board resolution No. 55, dated November 21, 2007, states that the district will impose a minimum charge of P189.20 for residential consumers; P302.70 for government agencies; P378.40 for commercial establishments; and P605.40 for industrial users.
Commodity charges for residential and government consumption of 11-20 cubic meters will be P22.90; and P45.80 for commercial and industrial users.
For consumption of over 40 cubic meters, the MRWD will be charging residential and government users P35.40, and commercial and industrial users P70.80 for over 40-cubic meter water consumption.
I actually received the notice last December but I didn’t notice that it’s about 10%. Maybe that’s why my wife is keep on asking me to turn-off properly the faucet after I wash my motor bike. Weeh, I’ll just take a bath once a day to conserve water and avoid unexepcted water expenses. I don’t know if Sen. Manuel "Mar" Roxas II knows about this because I think there’s a moratorium agreement that states that the increase in water rates should be implemented in 2010 not this year which I think he initiated.
Well let’s wait for more increases this year. Increase in Water Rates, Fuel Increase, Peso Increase (Dollar Decreases) and I hope a Minimum Wage Increase or Salary Rate Increase! Hope for the best and don’t expect for the worst hehehe!
