Capiz Chess Association, Inc. will organize a chess tournament exclusive for Roxas City Players only. The first chess tournament for the year 2008 for Capizeño will be held this coming January 19, 2008. The time control for the said tournament will be 25 minutes rapid play in 5-rounds swiss format. Woodpushers from different barangays of Roxas City, Capiz will be expected to participate the said event.
The chess tournament is sponsored by our beloved Mayor of Roxas City, Hon. Mayor Vic Bermejo. The maximum players that should register for the said event is 32 and actually registration is already closed. The purpose of the said tournament is the enhance the skills of players of Roxas City, Capiz and to look for the top 5 players of Roxas City to represent the province of Capiz later to regional or national chess competitions. I salute Capiz Chess Association, Inc. for being active in promoting chess in Capiz and Hon. Mayor Vic Bermejo for supporting this good cause. Mabuhay kayo!
